Where will you spend eternity?

God created the Heaven and the earth; and it was all very good! However, man rebelled and sinned against his maker because he wanted to be his own god and make up his own rules. When man sinned, this messed up God’s very good world and brought suffering, shame, and sadness (sadness to man and God)! The sad thing is, when you read the history of mankind you read the history of a people who continually chose themselves over the God of Heaven. Therefore, when you read history you read of continual wars, famines, crimes, diseases, etc. Truly man’s history is a “trail of tears” which will lead to an everlasting place of punishment prepared for the devil and his angels.

Changing point in history…

But there is one great bright spot in the history of the world. It is the very spot which all of time was changed forever. It was the time we date our modern history from. It was the time of an event which took place over two-thousand years ago; it was the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh. Jesus, God the Son, was born in Bethlehem and then lived a perfect, sinless life as a man for thirty-three and an half years, doing good everywhere He went. Then as man, and for man, He was crucified on the cross for our sins and then buried. And on the third day of being in the grave, He arose never to die again.

Why did He die?

He died because He loved us. We are eternal souls who will live forever somewhere, and because God will not let sin into Heaven, the only other place for us to go is Hell fire. Thus, when we choose to sin, whether consciously or not, we choose and deserve an eternal destiny of suffering.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

We all deserve to die and go to Hell, but God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. Thus, God sent His only begotten Son to take our punishment for us.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:16

Because Jesus took the punishent we deserve, we do not have to go to Hell. He suffered and died and went to Hell for us. He shed His precious blood to pay for our sins, yet He did not stay dead, but arose from the dead, proving He was and is-The Only begotten Son of God.

Therefore, because He paid for your sins, you can go to Heaven by simple faith. If you will believe Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and arose from the dead, then you can be saved. But you must trust in Him as your God, your Lord, and your Saviour. You must surrender your life to Him. You must turn from yourself and religion and receive Him as your God; asking Him to save you from where you deserve to go-Hell! And if you do that, then you are saved!

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13

Will you surrender your life to Jesus Christ and receive Him as your Saviour? If so, call on Christ to save you, telling God something like this:

Dear Lord, I now put all of my trust in You, believing Jesus Christ died for my sins, was buried, and rose again from the dead. Please save me from the lake of fire and give me the gift of eternal life. I now receive You as my Saviour, trusting in You and You alone to save my soul. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ is the ultimate free gift ever given. Why not be saved today?

Behold now is the day of salvation. While the Lord Jesus Christ is near, call upon Him and be saved now.

If you just received Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, let us know.
